Health Information Technology Committee
Section 5(b) of P.A. 09-148 requires the HIT committee to formulate a plan for developing, acquiring, financing, leasing or purchasing fully interoperable electronic medical records software and hardware packages for subscribing providers. Such plan shall include the development of a periodic payment system that allows subscribing providers to acquire approved software and hardware while receiving the services described in the section.

- Special Guest Speaker - A. John Blair, III, M.D. is a nationally recognized healthcare and technology leader with broad experience across the healthcare industry.
Dr Blair is also the president of the Taconic IPA, a 5000 physician Independent Practice Association formed in 1989. The organization is focused on physician practice transformation and patient centered medical home for physicians in New York’s Hudson Valley.
Dr. Blair is also the CEO of MedAllies, a Health Information Service Provider Company, established in 2001 and based in Fishkill, NY. MedAllies facilitates physician adoption of Health Information Technology and integrates the healthcare community to facilitate care coordination, patient-provider communication, public health and quality reporting.
Dr. Blair currently serves on the Privacy and Security Workgroup and the NHIN Workgroup of the Policy Committee of the Office of the National Coordinator. He Co-Chairs the HIE workgroup for the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT). He is a member of the The National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) Committee on Performance Measurement.
