PALs athletic activities have been one of the major interests in the organization.  Through a range of programs offered by Bridgeport PAL, hundreds of young people can participate on both an organized and non-competitive level.  All of PALs athletic programs are supervised by police and other volunteer personnel.

Since 1990, over 200 youth a year participate in the PAL basketball program.  In the fall of each year both boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 13 may register.  A birth certificate and fee are required upon registration.
"Cute" - "Fun" - "Exciting" -- that is how you would describe the PAL Spirits Cheerleading program.  Open to girls ages 7 through 14, the cheerleaders participate in parades, basketball tournaments and many community events.  A birth certificate and fee are required upon registration.  Registration for Cheerleading is in the fall of each year.
Since its inception, PAL has provided a high quality boxing program for area youth.  PAL boxers have become State Champions, Golden Glove Champions and National Champions.  This program is located in the Bridgeport Black Rock area.  Youth between the ages of 12 and 21 may register.  A birth certificate and fee are required upon registration.
The PAL Bucaneers Jr. Drum and Bugle Corps practices and performs year round featuring brass, percussion and color guard.  High quality musical and marching instruction is provided throughout the year.  This program is offered to youth between the ages of 10 to 21 years.  No musical or marching experience is necessary.  Equipment and uniform are included with registration.  A birth certificate and fee are required upon registration.
In September 1977, Bridgeport PAL began its Police Cadet Program.  This program is designed to introduce youth to the different aspects of law enforcement and to educate them in this field.  The youth involved in this program serve the community in many ways.  They serve under the guidance of police and civilian volunteers.  Both boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 21 may participate.  A birth certificate and fee are required upon registration.
The entrance is at ground level and the Village is wheelchair accessible..
The Bridgeport Police Athletic League was founded in June of 1950 by Lieutenant Richard Sertefsky.  Since its founding, PAL has continued to develop and expand a broad base of programs and activities.  The overall objectives of the Bridgeport Police Activities League are to help city youth to become mature, responsible and productive members of society and the community at large.   PAL strives to achieve these objectives through a wide range of educational, recreational and vocational programs.  In 1988, PAL changed its name from Athletic to Activities League due to the increasing demand for non-athletic programs.  The organization is dedicated to this mission and has served thousands of children and their parents and the extended family.
