The Walk/Run for Abilis is our largest annual awareness building and community fundraising event. It is a family-friendly activity for people of all ages and abilities that celebrates inclusion and diversity. This is the one event we do each year in which all of our families and their children can participate.

The funds raised through the Walk/Run event help Abilis provide state of the art services for over 700 people of all ages with a wide range of intellectual, developmental, social, emotional, and physical challenges, as well as education and advocacy supports for their parents.

Whether you choose to walk, run, or simply enjoy the scenery and camaraderie at Tod’s Point, you will enjoy a fun-filled day with music, food, and lots of activities for kids! This year we are adding a Childrens' Area, with carnival games, arts & crafts, bouncy castle, face-painting, bubble bus and more!

So put on your sneakers and join us for an inspiring day!

{Walk/Run Participants}

3 Mile Run - The 3 Mile run begins at 9:00 am and is proceeded by a professional warm-up. There is a $45 registration fee to participate.The run is a timed race that is suitable for runners of all levels. Registration and race packet-pick-up open at 7:30 am the day of the event. The course is relatively flat and on mostly concrete paths within Greenwich Point Park. The route is accurately marked with arrows and we have run monitors to keep you on course and cheer you on to the finish.

For runners using adaptive equipment, there is a route modification that will enable you to stay on paved roads. Our run monitors will direct you or you can inquire in advance at the run registration table. Awards and prizes will be given to the top three men and women finishers.

1 Mile Walk - The walk begins at 11:00 am and is proceeded by a fun warm-up with lively music. There is no-charge to participate in the walk but a donation of any amount would be appreciated. The walk route goes along the scenic Greenwich Point Park peninsula and is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. Most of the route is on traffic free roads and concrete paths. Sorry, no skateboards, bikes, or pets please!

Kids' Activities -  Children's activities begin at 9:00 am and continue throughout the event. There will be a Children's area with carnival games, arts & crafts and face-painting, bouncy castle, “Bubble Bus”, and a fire truck that children (and parents) can explore!

Team Awards - Participation awards will be given to the top three walk or run teams based on total participation, which includes donors and onsite members. Creativity awards and prizes will be given to the most unique run and walk team outfits. Be creative and have fun!
