Hartford's celebration of Winter begins on November 28, 2014. This season long series of events has something for children and adults. Be certain to check the list of events at http://www.hartford.com/venue/winterfest/
 
Here are some of the currently posted events.
 
Opening Night: Winterfest Hartford, November 28, 4:30 pm - 10:00 pm
 
Celebrate the first night of Winterfest with Mayor Pedro Segarra, Santa Claus, the Hall High Choraliers, Must Be The Milk, DJs Cajar and Whitney Bobby of Shag Frenzy, and, free ice-skating, of course. Enjoy free milk and cookies at the Must Be The Milk Booth, free photos with Santa.
 
Free Ice-skating and Free Skate Rentals
Enjoy free ice-skating and free skate rentals, daily, through February 1, 2015 at the Winterfest Hartford rink in Bushnell Park.

Photos With Santa
November 29, 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. |Recurring Event every week on Saturday and Sunday until December 21, 2014
 
Winterfest wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Santa, so visit the Pump House and have your photo taken with him for free. Each family receives 1 free 5×7 photo; additional prints may be purchased on the Winterfest Hartford Smug Mug page, the day after you skate.

Ugly Sweater Stroll
December 13, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
 
Show off your ugliest sweater and stroll through downtown, stopping to sample Winterfest-inspired Onyx cocktails at downtown restaurants. Admission is $25 and includes a super awesome “Hartford Has It” scarf, drink specials at all participating restaurants and prizes. Participating restaurants will be announced in early December.
