Enrollment for the Fall 2012 session of BB Family Read is now open! Bright Beginnings Family Read is a highly acclaimed literacy exploration program for parents who wish to build stronger relationships with their children. Organized around empowering themes and using multicultural literature, parents learn to use literature as a springboard for meaningful conversations with their children and improve their reading fluency and comprehension. Sessions are ten weeks long with lunch provided. Child care is provided on-site to assist parents in developing strong social bonds. Transportation is available upon request.
The program is held at the Courtland Wilson library, which is located at 303 Washington Ave in New Haven.

The Bright Beginnings Family Read program brings first-time parents together with their children for a 10- week program to enjoy reading together and positive parenting through selected children's books. Family Read offers free transportation, a light meal and on-site child care. The program  can assist with adult literacy issues and can connect parents to other literacy programs within the New Haven area.

Transportation can be arranged for interested parties from their house to Wilson library and back.

Dates and times
Wednesdays, beginning September 19, from 1-330. We can certainly assist with literacy and I can connect parents to other literacy programs within the NH area.

Directions to the Cortland Wilson Library
From I-95 North and South:
Take Exit 47(CT-34 connector) to downtown New Haven. Take Exit 2 (College Street/North Frontage Rd). At first light, take left onto College Street. Go straight through first light (South Frontage) and then veer right onto Congress Avenue. At the second traffic light, take a left onto Howard Avenue. At the first light, take a right on to Washington Avenue. The library will be on your right at 303 Washington Avenue. To park turn right into the driveway before the library. Additional parking spaces are behind the library.
From I-91 South:
Take Exit 1 (Downtown New Haven/CT -34 Connector). Follow above directions from Exit 2 (College Street/North Frontage Rd)..
