Kids will be able to meet and interact with the mother lioness, Cleo, and her cub Lionel while they share stories, tell hilarious jokes, and belt out tunes.  Cleo and Lionel are so entertaining, kids don’t even realize they’re learning.  There will be five shows that are open to the public at four locations. Promotional support is provided by CPTV, Borders Books & Music, West Hartford Public Library, and Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford.
Cleo and Lionel to appear in Live Performances In Connecticut July 21 and 22
Since 2000, the popular PBS KIDS's series Between the Lions has been helping children learn how to read, and this summer, the Lions are hitting the road yet again to engage live audiences in read-alouds and performances and to celebrate the show's upcoming eighth season on the air.
On July 21 and 22, mother of the pride, Cleo, and cub Lionel will be joined by executive producer Chris Cerf when they visit several locations in Connecticut on the first leg of the show's 2008 summer road tour. Between the Lions will be in Connecticut on July 21 and 22, when the Lions are scheduled to make public appearances, live, on the 21st at the Broadview Middle School in Danbury; and on the 22nd at the Hartford Public Library, the Connecticut Children's Museum, and Imagine Nation in Bristol. On July 23, the Lions roar into Massachusetts, where performances will include Springfield's Forest Park Zoo, Worcester Public Library, Showcase Cinemas Lowell -- and a fabulous finale weekend including performances at the Boston Public Library, the Boston Children's Museum, and the Burlington Mall.
"Cleo and Lionel can't wait to visit with their fans, says Sirius Thinking executive producer Chris Cerf. The children they meet are so excited about meeting them in person and reading along with them. And since the regular episodes of the Between the Lions television show are not performed in front of a live audience, it's a special thrill for all of us involved in the series to get out around the country and interact with our viewers."
