Robert Benson
Architectural Photographer

Robert Benson was born in Connecticut and is a graduate of Boston College. In 1978, he spent a year as Artist in Residence with the Arts in Education program at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut, and in 1980 was Artist in Residence with the Colorado State Council on the Arts and Humanities. He has been working as a freelance photographer specializing in architectural and editorial photography since 1982.

He has been commissioned by designers, architects and corporations. His work has appeared in more than 16 national magazines, including the Smithsonian and Historic Preservation publications.  His work has been featured in books including Our Governor's Residences,  and I Will Sing Life: Voices from the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Little Brown & Company. Installations include Aetna, Post-Newsweek and the Connecticut River Museum
