Reinventing Connecticut Informational Sessions Start Nov. 9
Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s special session on jobs last week produced many pro-business measures designed to spur job creation, innovation, and business growth. Now, the state will hold a series of informational sessions across the state to let businesses know firsthand how these measures can positively impact them.
“One focus of the special session was to help businesses—most notably small businesses—prosper and grow,” said Catherine Smith, commissioner of Connecticut’s Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD). “With $180 million in new funding specifically targeted to Connecticut’s small business community, the Malloy administration and the state legislature are clearly supporting the job creators and innovators that can accelerate our economic recovery.”
The sessions, the latest initiative of Governor Malloy’s larger strategy to reinvent Connecticut, will begin November 9 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
DECD will be scheduling more sessions in the upcoming weeks. New dates and locations will be posted on www.decd.org
. In addition, the agency will host webinars for those that cannot participate in person.
Attendees will learn about the new legislation as well as existing programs to assist Connecticut businesses. In addition, they can meet one-on-one with economic development representatives to access fast-track assistance from the state. Those interested in attending should register in advance
or call 800-392-2122 for more information.
