  Governor Ned Lamont today joined Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Commissioner Joe Giulietti, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and other federal, state and local officials to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the launch of the CTrail Hartford Line – the passenger rail service that has multiple stations in Central Connecticut along the I-91 corridor connecting New Haven, Hartford, and Springfield.

  MTA Metro-North Railroad advises customers that from Saturday, June 22 through Sunday, June 23, Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) crews will doing prep work to replace the Atlantic Street Bridge located at the east end of the Stamford station.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will be hosting a Public Informational Meeting on Wednesday June 12, 2019, regarding a proposed “road diet” on U. S. Route 5 (Enfield Street) between Grant Street and University Place. A “road diet” is a reconfiguration of roadway markings to allow better bicycle and pedestrian access and safety.

  The Department of Transportation implemented a Pollinator Program in 2017 in accordance with Public Act 16-17 to establish pollinator corridors in selected locations within the highway system. The Department recently added over 50 additional locations statewide to serve as “Conservation Areas” for pollinators.

4/22/2019New Parking Enforcement at West Haven Rail Station Set to Begin on Monday, May 6, 2019
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a new parking enforcement initiative at the West Haven Train Station. Beginning this week, drivers parked in the 660-space lot will receive notification of the new, pending enforcement activity via a windshield flyer and variable message signs, reminding users that payment is required to park a vehicle. Then, beginning on Monday, May 6, 2019, drivers that do not display a valid parking permit or pay the $6 daily parking fee will be subject to a penalty of $25 per day.   The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 7 in New Milford is scheduled to have a short-term “rolling” closure beginning at approximately 8:30 PM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, and ending at 5:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. The “rolling’ closure is necessary to facilitate the escort and permitted movement of an oversize/overweight vehicle carrying a transformer weighing 476,700 pounds on a specialized 12-axle trailer.
