DEP Identifies Man Who Died on Goshen Lake Tuesday Night

The 81-year old Torrington man pronounced dead at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital last night after he fell from a boat into the water of  Woodbridge Lake, Goshen has been identified as Fabian J. Cianciolo of Alvord Park Rd., Torrington.

CT DEP Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police say it is unclear at this time if the victim went off the 14-foot Mirrocraft fishing boat and died as the result of a heart attack or if he fell into the water for other reasons and drowned.  EnCon will conduct an investigation of the incident.

The second person on the boat, an 84-year old Torrington man, recovered the body soon after the fall.

Cianciolo was taken to Charlotte Hungerford by Goshen Ambulance, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 5 p.m.

The incident was reported to DEP at 3:40 p.m.  CT State Police and the Goshen Fire Department also responded to the call.
