  Several preceding years of drought and invasive forest pests have dealt a heavy toll on Connecticutís oak and ash trees. The Departments of Consumer Protection (DCP) and Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) advise homeowners to make assessment of risky dead trees prior to leaf drop later this fall.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has committed the State of Connecticut to join the Powering Past Coal Alliance Ė a coalition of countries, regions, states, and businesses that are committed to phasing out traditional coal power and placing a moratorium on new traditional coal power stations.
