Mr. Paul called the Advocacy, Public Information and Education (APIE) Committee Meeting to order on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 4:04 p.m.

The meeting consisted of Mr. Yellen and Ms. Karan from First Experience Communications discussing their findings in the Research Summary, Observations and Prelimary Recommendations Report.  Ms. Karam noted that

one of the top leaders declined but the others were interviewed. She discussed the key findings from the leaders about the Councilís visibility.

They thought that the CT Council should: 1) not be in the background, 2) sign onto position papers, 3) do public speaking, 4) write a Councilís quarterly newsletter etc.  Then, she spoke  about benchmark highlights from various Councils. They learned that other Council had the following: 1). newsletters, 2) magazines, 3) mission statements for their committees, 3) face-book, 4) twitter and etc.

Mr. Yellen and Ms. Karam will email the committee their marketing communication recommendations by November 2, 2010.  If necessary, a teleconference call will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 3 p.m.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
