Governor Rell: State Flags to Half Staff

in Honor of Bloomfield State Representative

Governor M. Jodi Rell today ordered State of Connecticut flags to be lowered to half staff to honor the memory of State Representative Faith McMahon, who died today.

“Faith lived to serve her community and her state, and she did so with passion and diligence,” Governor Rell said.  “We will all miss her here at the State Capitol.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family and friends.”

Rep. McMahon was a third-term Democratic representative and the first woman mayor of Bloomfield.  McMahon enjoyed a 35-year career as an elementary teacher in the Windsor School System and served 15 years on the Bloomfield Town Council.  She served as Bloomfield’s mayor for 10 years.

State of Connecticut flags will remain at half-staff until the day of her interment, which has not yet been determined.
