Governor M. Jodi Rell signed the following legislation of the 2008 Session on the date indicated after the title of the bill:

 

 

P.A. 08- 154

S.B. 679                                  AN ACT CONCERNING THE PAYMENT OF CERTAIN COSTS FROM BOND FUNDS AND THE CREATION OF A RECIPROCAL PREFERENCE STATUTE

This Act passed as amended by Senate Amendment Schedules A and B and shall take effect as follows:  Section 1 shall take effect upon passage, which is the day the Governor signed the bill and section 2 shall take effect October 1, 2009. The Governor signed the bill on June 13, 2008.

 

P.A. 08- 174

s.H.B. 5873                             AN ACT CONCERNING THE FACE OF CONNECTICUT STEERING COMMITTEE, THE PRESERVATION OF FARMLAND, A MUNICIPAL GRANT PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, LOANS FOR BROWNFIELD PURCHASERS AND TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR OPEN SPACE LAND HELD BY OR FOR CERTAIN CORPORATIONS

This Act passed as amended by House Amendment Schedules

 A and B and shall take effect as follows: Sections 1, 2, 4, 6

and 9 shall take effect upon passage, which is the day the Governor signed the bill; section 3 shall take effect October 1, 2008; sections 5 and 7 shall take effect July 1, 2008 and section 8 shall take effect upon passage, which is the day the Governor signed the bill and applicable to assessment years commencing on and after October 1, 2007.  The Governor signed the bill on June 13, 2008.

 

  

 

Governor M. Jodi Rell vetoed the following legislation of the 2008 Session on the date indicated after the title of the bill:

s.S.B. 678                               AN ACT ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY-BASED HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES CABINET

This Act passed as amended by Senate Amendment Schedule A and shall take effect upon passage, which is the day the Governor signed the bill. The Governor vetoed the bill on June 13, 2008.

 

P.A. 08- 179

s.H.B. 5936                             AN ACT CONCERNING THE GREENWAY COMMONS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT IN SOUTHINGTON, THE WAYPOINTE PROJECT IN NORWALK, NAUGATUCK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, DONATION OF OPEN SPACE LAND BY WATER COMPANIES, AND THE AUTHORITY OF MUNICIPAL DISTRICTS OVER THE WATER QUALITY IN LAKES

This Act passed as amended by House and Senate Amendment Schedules A and shall take effect as follows:  Sections 1-3 shall take effect July 1, 2008; section 4 shall take effect July 1, 2008 and applicable to income years commencing on or after January 1, 2008 and section 5-6 shall take effect October 1, 2008.  The Governor vetoed the bill on June 13, 2008.

s.H.B. 5536                             AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE CONNECTICUT HEALTHCARE PARTNERSHIP

This Act passed as amended by House Amendment Schedules

A and B and shall take effect as follows:  Sections 1, 5 and 7 shall take effect upon passage, which is the day the Governor signed the bill; sections  2, 3, and 4 shall take effect September 1, 2008; and sections 6, 8 and 9 shall take effect January 1, 2009.  The Governor vetoed the bill on June 13, 2008.

As of this date, the Governor has acted on all the legislation presented to her for the 2008 Legislative Session.  Governor Rell has signed one hundred eighty-nine (189) bills; vetoed six (6) bills and one bill has become law without the Governor’s signature.
