STATE OF CONNECTICUT
BY HIS EXCELLENCY
JOHN G. ROWLAND
GOVERNOR
EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 28a
WHEREAS, on March 20, 2003, I filed a proclamation with the Secretary of the State declaring a civil preparedness emergency in the state of Connecticut due to the commencement of Operation Liberty Shield; and
WHEREAS, I simultaneously filed Executive Order No. 28 with the Secretary of State to codify a joint partnership between the Connecticut and New York Departments of Public Safety which authorized each state’s law enforcement officers to patrol commuter trains traveling to and from New York; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with section 28-9 and the above referenced proclamation, I modified certain statutes which were, in my opinion, in conflict with the efficient and expeditious execution of civil preparedness functions, namely the patrolling of commuter trains traveling to and from New York;
NOW, THEREFORE, I John G. Rowland, Governor of the State of Connecticut, by the authority vested in by the Constitution and laws of the State of Connecticut, do hereby ORDER and DIRECT that Executive Order No. 28 be revoked.
This Order shall take effect immediately.
Given under my hand and Seal of the State at the City of Hartford, this 12th day of May in the year of our Lord two thousand and three, and of the independence of the United States two hundred and twenty seven.
By His Excellency's Command:
