40 Hours On-The-Road Instruction

 

Each applicant must be given 40 hours of behind-the-wheel, on-the-road instruction.  Quality on-the-road instruction should include a lesson plan. 

 

In order to assist parents provide 40 hours of effective on-the-road instruction, the DMV offers a Parent Training guide.  This guide will assist the trainer in organizing time and provides a suggested lesson-by-lesson approach.  To assist you to keep track of the number of hours and what driving skill you practiced each day, a log is provided at CT DMV Parent/Guardian Instruction Log.
