Required Training

 

22 hours of Classroom Training (plus 8 hour Safe Driving Practices Class)

 

The 22 hours classroom training time:

 

  • Must cover all materials in the Connecticut Driver’s Manual
  • Should include such other information on driver education that is deemed necessary for a person to know in order to safely operate a motor vehicle under present day driving conditions
  • This DMV website offers links to other resources to assist in home training teen drivers, including:
    • RAPT3 Link to a computer-based training tool to increase drivers’ risk awareness.
