CONNECTICUT RECOVERY - APRIL 2010 PROGRESS |
Since February 17, 2009, Connecticut state agencies have been engaged in activities to implement programs and initiative created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
On April 1, 2010, state agencies that have received Recovery Act funding began the third cycle of reporting to the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on their activities since receiving those funds. This reporting cycle reflects Recovery Act activities between January 1, 2010 and March 31, 2010.
Data from these quarterly reports will be made publicly available on April 30 through the federal Recovery website – www.recovery.gov.
In anticipation of the release of this information, the Governor’s office has captured preliminary information submitted through the quarterly reporting process. The information gathered in the following documents reflect only those activities associated with the implementation of Recovery Act programs by state agencies and do not reflect efforts undertaken by other direct recipients of Recovery Act funds in Connecticut, such as municipalities, businesses and not-for-profits.
Highlights from Connecticut’s April 2010 OMB 1512 report:
- 6,637 jobs created/retained
- $423 million in expenditures since February 2009 – state agencies expended more than $140 million in Recovery Act funds over the last 3 months
- $1.7 billion in entitlement benefits (Medicaid, unemployment and food stamps) have moved into the state’s economy
