Governor Rell’s Executive Order No. 34 Focus of EV Council
The Electric Vehicles Infrastructure Council shall:
- Strategize on preparing the State for rapid & seamless integration of EVs into the market
- Coordinate inter-agency decision-making on critical issues
- Establish performance measures for meeting infrastructure funding, environmental & regulatory goals
- Align State goals for EVs with what is occurring on national level
- Reports on Findings of EV Council – due Feb 1st and Sept 1st 2010
Key Issues to Address
- Customer & Stakeholder Education
- ptions for development of metering & charging infrastructure including, placement opportunities to prepare the State for arrival of EVs
- Home charging installation process & streamlining permitting requirements & contractor installation of residential EV charging equipment
- Rate Design options & metering
- EV incentives to encourage CT consumers to buy & operate EVs including tax cuts, financing & grants
- Process to move forward, series of monthly meetings with presentations to the Council
