The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Police Officer Standards and Training Council’s Accreditation Division, will be sponsoring a six (6) hour training class titled “Accreditation Manager Training.”  The instruction will be provided by POST-C Staff.


The class is scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2017 and will be held at the Connecticut Police Academy.  Class hours will be 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. in classroom # 2.  This class is open to sworn and non-sworn personnel newly appointed as their agency’s Accreditation Manager.


This program is designed to explain the history of the Connecticut Accreditation Program, as well as the State Accreditation Standards.  Emphasis will be placed on how to begin the accreditation process, the length of time to complete the process, defining a written directive, how to construct accreditation files, and the electronic assessment version of the program.


Police Officers who successfully complete this training will receive five (5) hours of Review Training Credit, in Curriculum Area VIII.


General Notices #90-03, Dress Code for POST Council Training, and #03-5, Police Academy Building Restrictions (on food and beverages in classrooms), are both in effect for this class.  Please advise your personnel accordingly.


This program is limited to 25 students and there is no tuition for this class.  Should you wish to submit more than one name, please photocopy the original application and return them labeled “alternate”.  Please complete and return all applications no later than, Monday, October 20, 2017.  Coffee break refreshments can be purchased in the Academy’s cafeteria for a nominal fee.  Lunch can be purchased off-site at the participant’s expense.
