POSTC: Outside Training Opportunities

  • JUNE 1-5, 2015, CHILD ABDUCTION TRAINING & FTX The Federal Bureau of Investigation, New Haven Division, in cooperation with the Cheshire Police Department, Connecticut State Police and the Connecticut Department of Corrections, will be conducting a Child Abduction Investigation Training Course and Field Training Exercise at the Maloney Center for Training and Staff Development on June 1stthrough 5th, 2015.

    The instruction will be conduced by members of the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team (CARD) and profilers from the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit. Some of the topics to be covered will include: Overview of Child Sexual Offenders, Understanding Child Abductors, Phases of the Investigative Response, Command Post and Major Case Management, Investigative Tools and Resources, and several Child Abduction Deployment Case Debriefs. The course will culminate with a full day Child Abduction Investigative Field Training Exercise.

    The course is intended for sworn law enforcement officers at all investigative levels from the initial response of patrol to the investigative management of Detectives. The course will be limited to 60 students.  REGISTRATION INFORMATION.

  • JUNE 3, 2015, CHILD ABDUCTION TRAINING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT MANAGERS -  This is a 3 hour block of instruction being taught by members of the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team that is being held in conjunction with the 5 day Child Abduction Investigation Training Course and FTX being held June 1-5, 2015 at the Maloney Center for Training and Staff Development. This training is being held exclusively for law enforcement managers with personnel attending the 5 day course. Managers are invited to attend this course which summarizes each of the topics being taught and will cover the major elements and considerations of a child abduction investigation in order for them to better manage and support their investigators. Particular emphasis will be on the investigative strategies, case management, media strategies, command post structure, and support for the investigative response.  REGISTRATION INFORMATION.
