The West Haven Police Department is seeking entry level and POST certified police officers for the position of a full time police officer (top pay $60,896).  We are interested in those candidates who would enjoy working in a department which focuses on integrity, professionalism, and community policing.  Interested candidates can either pick up an application for employment at the West Haven Police Department or download one from our website at www.whpd.com. Candidates will be required to successfully complete a written exam, physical agility test, oral interview, thorough background investigation, polygraph, psychological, and physical exam. Bethel Police Department Certified
None

The Bethel Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.  At this time in the process, applicants must be State of Connecticut P.O.S.T.C. certified, have completed their two-year employment requirements, and currently be employed as a full-time police officer in Connecticut.  Candidates must be able to pass all P.O.S.T. requirements for lateral transfers.  It is anticipated that a testing date for non-certified officers will be scheduled in early 2010. Salary steps above starting ($44,646) are available for Certified Officers. Top salary step by contract is $62,483 as of 07/01/2009.  Twenty-five (25) year pension (60%; 70% @ 30 years) with 75% Retirement Medical Benefits, 457 Deferred Comp Program, Education Incentive and Tuition Assistance, etc. An Initial Application Form for Connecticut Certified Officers can be obtained on-line at www.bethelpd.com.  The Town of Bethel is an EOE.

Bristol Police Department Entry Level & Certified

The City of Bristol accepts applications for entry-level and certified lateral transfer police officers on an on-going basis.  Applications of non-certified candidates are kept on file until the next scheduled testing date.  Those eligible for lateral certification may apply to be added as a candidate on a lateral eligibility list at any time. Eligible candidates will be required to successfully complete each step of an initial testing process consisting of written, oral, and physical ability (valid C.H.I.P. card required) examinations.  A psychological, medical (including drug screen) and polygraph examination, as well as an extensive background investigation are required prior to hiring.  Police Officer salary range $50,970-$62,009. DEP - State Environmental Conservation Police Certified

The State ENCON Police is seeking certified officers or officers/State Troopers that have retired in good standing within the last two (2) years to become Special Conservation Officers. These seasonal positions would be responsible for law enforcement duties at Connecticut State Parks. There are flexible hours and positions generally run May 1st through October 1st. East Windsor Police Department Entry Level & Certified

The Town of East Windsor Police Department is presently conducting on-going recruitment for Entry-Level & Certified Lateral Transfer Police Officers to fill current and future vacancies. Newington Police Department Certified

Putnam Police Department Entry Level & Certified None

The Putnam Police Department is conducting on-going recruitment for Entry-Level & Certified Lateral Transfer Police Officers to fill current and future vacancies. Salary range is $45,364 to $62,004.   Entry level applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Entry level candidates should contact the Law Enforcement Council of Connecticut at www.lawenforcementcouncil.org  to obtain a schedule of written examination dates. The results will be submitted to the Putnam Police Department which will then contact candidates. Lateral transfer applicants must be a POSTC certified officer or a Lateral Entry (out-of-state) police officer meeting POSTC requirements, with a minimum of two years full-time experience. Those POSTC certified candidates should submit a letter of interest, resume, and a photocopy of your POSTC certification card to: Chief Ricky L. State Capitol Police Department Certified

State Capitol Police Officers patrol a seventeen acre campus in Downtown Hartford that includes the State Capitol and Legislative Office Buildings , garages and supporting State offices.   We work in partnership with the City of Hartford and the State Police Departments. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis in order to fill current and anticipated vacancies.   Police Officer Salary Range :  $42,028 to $70,839. University of New Haven Police Department Certified

The University of New Haven Police Department is seeking certified Police Officers. Candidates must be able to pass all POST requirements for lateral transfers. The starting salary is $40,000 per year plus an evening differential of $1.00 an hour and a midnight differential of $1.25 an hour. Employees can contribute to the University’s Tax Deferred Annuity Plan and in addition the University will contribute 7% of the employee’s base salary to the same plan. All employees receive 100% free tuition for their dependent children that is effective immediately. Employees and their spouses can take two classes a semester, tuition free.
