The New Canaan Police Department is a nationally accredited agency that is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time entry level Police Officer. The City of West Haven announces an open recruitment seeking POST Certified Officers for the position of Police Officer.  Candidates will be required to successfully complete a written examination, drug screening, physical agility test, thorough background investigation, polygraph, psychological, oral interview and physical examination.  A copy of current POST certification must accompany application.  Application must be obtained at and returned to: West Haven Police Department, 200 Saw Mill Road , West Haven, CT 06516.  Salary $50,741 - $63,661; educational incentives available.  EOE.

The Town of Windsor Locks seeks Police Officers who have a current, valid POST-C certification as a Police Officer in the State of Connecticut to laterally transfer to the Town of Windsor Locks. The successful candidate must be eligible for and meet all the requirements for a lateral transfer as established by the Police Officer Standards and Training Council. *Those officers that may be retiring during the next 6 months from their current departments are encouraged to apply. Compensation:  Per Union Contract Starting $65.950.76 (July 1, 2013 per contract) newly hired lateral transfer Officers with three or more years of prior CT police POST/State certification will increase to top-step Patrol pay $71,335.26 (July 1, 2013) following successful completion of the implemented field training program (FTO).
