Producer Educational and Marketing Materials

How To Use

Based on suggestions from many producers, such as yourself, who are certified to sell Connecticut Partnership long-term care insurance, these Producer materials have been designed to meet your specific information needs.  These Producer materials have been approved by each of the carriers participating in the Connecticut Partnership, except those that market exclusively to groups and associations.  However, please note that it is your responsibility to contact the carriers directly to determine whether your carrier has any additional specific compliance requirements for the use of these materials, such as requiring the carrier name be on the letter.

Printed instructions for how to use these materials are provided below as well. Please read these instructions before using any of the materials.

All materials, except the Presentation Slides, were produced in Microsoft WORD 2000. The Presentation Slides were produced in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000. If you do not have these Microsoft software products or a more recent version of the software, please contact the Partnership office at (860) 418-6318 or david.guttchen@ct.gov to obtain other versions of the documents.

Direct Mail Letters

We have developed four ready-to-use direct mail letters for groups and individuals for your use along with tips for a successful direct mail campaign. The letters have been approved by each of the carriers participating in the Connecticut Partnership, except those that market exclusively to groups and associations. The letters are also on file for informational purposes with the Connecticut Insurance Department. Just include your identifying information and print it on your stationery. Suggestions are provided for additional information you might want to include in the letter.  Please note that it is your responsibility to contact the carriers directly to determine whether your carrier has any additional specific compliance requirements for the use of these letters, such as requiring the carrier name be on the letter.

Event Announcements

Includes draft event announcements and a byline article for publicizing long-term care seminars. Instructions for using the materials and useful tips for marketing long-term care seminars also are included.

Issue Sheet

We have developed the issue sheet: "Cost of Waiting to Buy Long-Term Care Insurance" that can be helpful in illustrating for younger clients the financial advantages of buying at as young an age as possible.  

LTC Statistics and Presentation Slides

We have compiled statistics on long-term care for your use. In addition, we have developed a Power Point slide presentation for your educational efforts. Included are tips on using these items.

LTC Statistics -- Includes current information on what long-term is, who is at risk, and how much long-term care costs in Connecticut. This information can be easily reproduced to leave with your clients.

Presentation Slides -- Includes 29 slides from the Partnership's Producer Certification training that can be used for general presentations on long-term care and long-term care insurance. These slides can be easily revised to include your or your agency's information.

Radio Ads

Includes one 30-second and one 60-second ready-to-use scripts. Tips for placing radio advertisements also are included as part of the instructions. The ads have been approved by each of the carriers participating in the Connecticut Partnership, except those that market exclusively to groups and associations. The ads are also on file for informational purposes with the Connecticut Insurance Department.  Please note that it is your responsibility to contact the carriers directly to determine whether your carrier has any additional specific compliance requirements for the use of these ads, such as requiring the carrier name be part of the ad.
