Energy Price and Supply Information
The Energy Management Unit has responsibility to be a public resource of information on energy prices and fuel supply. The Unit monitors prices and trends for the major energy fuels consumed in Connecticut, including gasoline, heating oil, natural gas, propane and electricity.
Heating Oil Monitoring Program
Pursuant to the recently enacted Emergency Home Heating Assistance legislation (Public Act 05-2, October 25 Special Session), OPM has the responsibility for implementing a home heating oil market monitoring program.

Petroleum Product Vendor Registration (PPVR)
The Petroleum Product Vendor Registration is a legislatively mandated program. The legislation requires that any person engaged in the wholesale or retail sale, or both, of petroleum products in this state or any person engaged in the wholesale sale of petroleum products for consumption in this state and who sells at least one million gallons of such products annually or a person engaged in the operation of a petroleum product storage terminal shall register with OPM not later than September thirtieth of each year or within thirty days of commencing operations.
