Click here for an interactive map of Connecticut towns with 1,650-foot buffer zones

around public and private schools and day care centers.

(Click refresh button if map components do not populate completely.)

This interactive map has four tabs: Public Schools, Private Schools, Day Care Centers, and All Schools and Day Care Centers. If you click on a tab and you will see Connecticut

town borders containing points for schools or day care centers. When you zoom in you will begin to see the 1,650 foot buffer surrounding each point. You can click on each point

or buffer zone to get the name and address for each school or day care center. The map shows 1,650-foot buffer zones around each school and day care center.  An extra 150 foot

buffer beyond the mandated 1,500 foot buffer has been added to account for the perimeter of each location. The “School Zone” 1,500 foot distance is measured from the edge of

the property line in all directions.  We are assuming an average lot 300 feet in width and depth.

The public and private schools in this map are from 2015 United States Department of Education data. The day care center data was supplied by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood.
Day care centers are broken into two categories: Organizational Run and Family Run Day Care Centers. Additional nationally recognized Day Care Centers were identified from the IGP Division at OPM.
