New Congressional Report on Restraint and Seclustion in Schools

 
The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee has issued an updated report on the use of Restraint and Seclusion in schools across the country. Citing cases from many states, including Connecticut, the report recommends significant legal reforms as well as investments in training and technical assistance for school systems and teachers. Legislation to implement these recommendations is also being introduced by Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy.
