Message from the Commissioner
{Commissioner Vogel sitting at desk}
More than ever, health care is on the minds of the American public. As our expectations of modern medicine and technology are raised higher than ever, issues of health insurance, quality of care, access and affordability are paramount.
The Office of Health Care Access is the state agency that watches over Connecticut’s health care delivery system – ensuring that the appropriate services are available to the citizens. We work closely with industry leaders and policymakers to communicate important issues of access and affordability based on our research and current market trends. As you explore this website, you will begin to understand how OHCA oversees and shapes the development of Connecticut’s health care delivery system through its Certificate of Need authority and educates the public on current health care issues.
