Connecticut Men in the Civil War

In 1889, the Connecticut National Guard published a summary of the events of each unit’s service during the Civil war in 38 chapters, entitled "RECORD OF SERVICE OF CONNECTICUT MEN IN THE WAR OF REBELLION, 1861 TO 1865".  The following are copies of segments of that history.  Subsequent chapters will be published in The Connecticut Guardian on a regular basis.  (Transcribed by Staff Sergeant Brett W. Wilson, Administrative Assistant to the USPFO for Connecticut).    {Invitation to join the Connecticut Volunteers, circa 1861}
