Welcome from Governor John G. Rowland
Welcome to Connecticut, and thank you for visiting my new home page on CT.gov!
Connecticut is rich in assets, ingenuity and promise, and serving as Governor has been the greatest honor of my life. Our greatest obligation is to leave our children a better Connecticut, filled with opportunity, hope and limitless potential. As Governor, that is not just my promise - it is my job.
Historic investments have made to rebuild our public colleges and universities, including the University of Connecticut's multi-billion dollar revitalization. College enrollments are at an all-time high, and our students are leading the nation in reading, writing and math.
Our cities are rising with unprecedented support, from downtown Waterbury, the waterfronts in New London and Bridgeport, and the groundbreaking Adriaen's Landing development in Hartford. Our small state is leading the nation in support for the arts, with new and revitalized theaters and museums bringing people into our downtowns.
Our natural resources - one of state's greatest assets - are being preserved and protected, with more open space preserved in the last four years than the past 30 combined. Aggressive enviromental protection efforts and improving our state parks are ensuring the best of our state is preserved for future generations.
Connecticut has much to offer, but there is much more to do to continue moving forward.
I want to thank you again for visiting my home page and hope your visit here and to CT.gov is both helpful and enjoyable. If you have made a virtual trip here from somewhere outside of Connecticut, we look forward to welcoming you in person on a trip to the Constitution State!
Sincerely,
{Governor John G. Rowland}
JOHN G. ROWLAND
