Governor Rell Greets "1977 New York Yankees"
On October 10, Governor M. Jodi Rell visited Dodd Stadium in Norwich, which has been converted to a movie set for the filming of “The Bronx is Burning,” an ESPN miniseries set to air next July on the 30th anniversary of the whirlwind summer that led to the New York Yankees' first World Series championship in 15 years.

Governor Rell, a Yankees fan, poses on the field with Speaker of the House James Amann and several actors in the film who play the roles of Yankee players Thurman Munson, Graig Nettles, Willie Randolph, Paul Blair and Mickey Rivers. The governor joked she will give this photo to her son, a Red Sox fan, for Christmas.
A new tax incentive package that took effect in July already is proving to be a boon to Connecticut. Governor Rell worked with the legislative leadership to make sure that Connecticut put into place incentives to encourage film and digital media production in the state. Connecticut’s 30 percent production tax credit is now the most attractive in the country.
