The Boston Red Sox today announced that the 2007 World Series trophy will come to Connecticut this Friday, January 11.

The trophy tour was originally scheduled for December 13, 2007. However, due to the winter snowstorm that hit Connecticut on that day, the Red Sox organization wanted their fans to be safe and decided to reschedule the trophy tour to January 11.
The public will have two opportunities to see the 2007 trophy: 10 am -11 am at New HavenCity Hall (165 Church Street) and 2:15 pm - 4 pm in Hartford at the StateCapitolBuilding (210 Capitol Avenue). The trophy will be on display on the first floor in the rotunda of the State Capitol.
Limited public parking will be available on the State Capitol grounds, in the Legislative Office Building Garage and at the state lot on the corner of Oak Street and Capitol Avenue in Hartford.
“We couldn’t be happier about bringing the trophy to the ever-increasing number of Connecticut fans who have supported us over the years,” said Lucchino. “Connecticut is a cornerstone of Red Sox Nation, and our supporters in Connecticut deserve to see this trophy that they helped bring back to Fenway.”
Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell, who invited the team to Connecticut, will be on hand to greet representatives from the team and the trophy when they arrive in Hartford.

“I would like to thank the Boston Red Sox for rescheduling the trophy tour and for giving baseball fans in Connecticut, particularly Red Sox fans, the special opportunity see a piece of baseball history up close. Like I've said before, we are a state divided when it comes to our baseball allegiance but we all appreciate and are fans of this historic past time. On Friday, it will be Boston Red Sox Day in the State of the Connecticut -- the day this part of Red Sox Nation will join other fans across the state in celebrating the 2007 World Series championship,” said Governor Rell.
