Office of Housing and Community Development

The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) works in concert with municipal leaders, public agencies, community groups, local housing authorities, and other non-profit housing developers in the planning and development of affordable homeownership and rental housing units, the preservation of existing multi-family housing developments, and community revitalization through a wide range of activities. These activities include for example the development of small to large-scale housing construction or rehabilitation, public infrastructure, downtown streetscapes, and cultural venues such as museums, theaters and cultural centers. OHCD is also responsible for long-term compliance monitoring to assure adherence to statutes, regulations and financial assistance agreements for housing development and preservation activities funded by the agency.

If you are interested in creating affordable housing units or in need of technical assistance or would like to learn more about our programs or activities, please contact Marilyn Taylor at DECD's Office of Housing and Community Development at 860-270-8161 or marilyn.taylor@ct.gov.
