Southern Region
Welcome to the website of the Department of Social Services, Southern Region. Staffed by 300 dedicated and responsive employees in New Haven, Norwich and Middletown offices, the Southern Region is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of programs and services to 55 cities and towns in Connecticut. Established partnerships with the Bureau of Rehabilitative Services (BRS), the Department of Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), Community Action Agency of New Haven, Inc. (NHCAA), Thames Valley Council for Community Action, Inc. (TVCCA), Training, Education, and Manpower, Inc. (TEAM), the Workforce Alliance Board, the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board, as well as numerous cities and towns, have served to assist us in meeting the mission of the agency and region.
We hope you will find the Southern Region website to be an accurate and relevant source of information. We are hopeful that its links to services and programs will be an invaluable reference tool that will support our vision for a coordinated system of services that can be accessed regardless of whether you are a DSS customer or not.
