Electronic Filing-Modernized e-File (MeF)
General Information - The Connecticut Department of Revenue, in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), accepts electronically filed business income tax and individual income tax returns as part of the IRS Modernized e-File (MeF) Program. MeF is a web-based system that allows electronic filing of tax returns through the Internet. MeF uses the widely accepted Extensible Markup Language (XML) format.
Alert! - Be advised that the CT MeF application is currently undergoing maintenance. As a result, returns filed through the CT efile/MeF program will receive delayed acknowledgements from the state of Connecticut.
There is nothing that you need to do. Once the maintenance is completed, the returns will be received, processed and acknowledged. All original transaction dates and payment dates will be honored. We apologize for any inconvenience.
