Connecticut Commissioner of Revenue Services Kevin Sullivan is the new President of the Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA).  FTA represents the tax and revenue agencies of all states, the District of Columbia, New York City and Philadelphia.  The national organization provides a clearing house for tax policy and best practices.

Said Sullivan, “In these challenging economic and fiscal times, the FTA is an invaluable resource in supporting the work of tax and revenue administrators as well as advancing smart tax policy.  It has been an honor to serve on the governing board and now head up FTA.”

Sullivan, appointed by Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, has served as Commissioner of the state’s Department of Revenue Services since 2011.  As Commissioner, he has worked to modernize the agency, reduce costs, improve taxpayer services, fight fraud and better guide state tax policy.  An attorney and experienced private and public sector manager, Sullivan has also headed the State Senate as President Pro Tempore and served as Connecticut’s Lt. Governor.
