For Immediate Release:                                                                      Monday, February 2, 2015

Hartford – Due to the impact of today’s storm, Department of Revenue Services (DRS) Commissioner Kevin B. Sullivan announced that certain tax filings and payments would be extended by one day to February 3, 2015.

Commissioner Sullivan said, “Today is the due date for numerous tax returns. After consultation with Governor Malloy, I am announcing that the deadline for these returns and any associated payments is extended to February 3, 2015. Given today’s weather, this extension is only fair.”

The following is a list of some of the tax types impacted:

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax,
  • Room occupancy tax,
  • Admissions and dues tax,
  • Alcoholic Beverages Tax, and
  • Petroleum products gross earnings tax.

Commissioner Sullivan encouraged taxpayers who have been impacted by today’s weather and are unable to comply with their tax obligations to contact DRS for assistance.
