The DPW Code Unit provides technical assistance and resources to state agencies for code-related issues.  This unit serves as the Building Official & Fire Marshal regarding code matters for all DPW administered projects that do not exceed the threshold limit.  The unit assists DPW project

managers during all phases of project design by reviewing drawings, specifications and all other pertinent information, such as product data, to verify compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, statutes and laws.  By working closely with staff and design professionals, code issues are identified and resolved in an expeditious manner.  During project construction, code services staff review fire protection system shop drawings, perform code compliance inspections, and witness life safety system testing.
