STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE

UNTIMELY DEATH IN SOUTHBURY

 

On Monday 11/2/09, at approximately 1:01 a.m. State Police received a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute at a private residence located at 50 Winterwood Rd in Southbury.

 

Southbury Police Officer responded to the scene and upon arrival discovered a young agitated male.  The officer requested EMS and took the male subject into custody by placing handcuffs on him without incident.  The male then began to experience a medical issue and appeared to stop breathing.  The officer provided emergency care and EMS responded and immediately transported the male to Waterbury Hospital Emergency Room where shortly after arrival the male was pronounced dead.

 

The residence at 50 Winterwood Road was secured for State Police Major Crime response to investigate this incident and to examine the scene. State Police Detectives obtained a search warrant from the court to examine the residence. 

 

A post mortem examination of the deceased will take place at the Office of The Chief State’s Medical Examiner on Tuesday 11/3/09 to determine the manner and cause of death.  State Police have identified the  deceased male is identified as 24 year-old Timothy Napoli.    

 

The State Police investigation is continuing.
