Loop Sensor Installation project will be performed on I-84 (westbound) between Exits 6 and 7, in Danbury on 5/20/2008
  Acting Transportation Commissioner H. James Boice announced today that a Loop Sensor Installation project will be performed on I-84 (westbound) between Exits 6 and 7, in Danbury. This project is expected to take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. The rain date would be Wednesday, May 21, 2008.

James Boice announced today that Pot Hole Patching operation will be performed on I-84 (eastbound and westbound) between Exits 68 and 71, in Willington & Tolland. This project is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 19, 2008 (westbound) & Tuesday, May 20, 2008 (eastbound).

  Acting Transportation Commissioner H. James Boice announced today that a Highway Illumination Repair project will be performed on I-84 (eastbound & westbound) between Exits 50 and 48 in Hartford. This project is scheduled to take place on or about Saturday, May 17, 2008 & Saturday, May 31, 2008.

2008 ‘Click It or Ticket” Campaign Unveiled
  Governor M. Jodi Rell, Lieutenant Governor Michael Fedele and officials from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Federal Highway Administration, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Connecticut Department of Public Safety, Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, Connecticut Department of Public Health, Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) and local law enforcement agencies joined together on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at DOT headquarters in Newington to kick off the 2008 “Click It or Ticket” Campaign.

Public hearing on Waterbury-Oxford Airport FAR Part 150 Noise Study, 06/12/2008
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) has prepared a Draft Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 150 Noise Study for the Waterbury-Oxford Airport (OXC), which is located in the Towns of Oxford and Middlebury. The OXC Noise Study is funded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and ConnDOT, and is available for public review and comment at the following locations:

  The Department of Transportation today announced that, weather permitting, the start of nighttime construction activities for the replacement of Bridge #00431, Route 4 over the Farmington River and intersection and safety improvements on Route 4 at Town Farm Road on Sunday, May 11, 2008. Motorists should expect lane closures.

Governor Rell Names New Commissioner of Transportation
  Governor M. Jodi Rell announced today that she is nominating Joseph F. Marie of Scottsdale, Arizona as the new Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Mr. Marie is currently the Director of Operations and Maintenance for METRO, the regional public transit system for Phoenix, Arizona and he brings to his new position more than 22 years of transit industry experience in both the public and private sectors. He is a native of Massachusetts.

The construction will affect portions of Route 44 from the West Hartford – Avon line to the Intersection of Route 10 with Route 44

  The Department of Transportation announced today that beginning on March 3, 2008 through June 1, 2008 various lane closures can be expected on Route 66 Eastbound and Westbound between Baileyville Road. in Middlefield and Camp Street in Middletown.

Governor Rell Reverses Metro-North Boarding Plan
  Governor M. Jodi Rell said today that Metro-North New Haven Line commuters in Fairfield County will not be required to board southbound trains to New York City on the opposite side of the tracks, as had been planned by Metro-North during an overhead wire rehabilitation and bridge replacement project.
