Proposed Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00302, which carries I-395 over Route 14 and Moosup River

The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00302, which carries I-395 over Route 14 and Moosup River.

The project is identified as State Project No. 108-186.

The purpose of the project is to replace the southbound concrete deck and median sections of the northbound concrete deck.  Remaining sections will be patched.  Steel members will be cleaned, repaired and painted as necessary.  Construction will take place in four stages requiring the construction of temporary roadways to stage traffic on the median section of the bridge during two stages.  The on-ramp to I-395 SB and off-ramp from I-395 NB will require closures during construction due to substandard acceleration distances.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.

Construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2020 based on the availability of funding.  The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $11.4 million.  This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 90 percent Federal funds and 10 percent State funds.

The Public Information Meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for the publicís participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project.
