Connecticut Department of Transportation Office of State Highway Design will be
holding a Public Informational Meeting regarding the Safety and Operational Improvements
on Route 7 (Danbury Road) at Grumman Hill Road. The meeting will be held on
Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Road, Wilton,
Connecticut. A design presentation will begin
at 7:00 p.m. with a question and answer period immediately following. The snow date for this meeting is Thursday,
December 14, 2017.
The improvements on Route 7 (Danbury Road) at the intersection of Grumman Hill
Road will include roadway widening to accommodate northbound and southbound
left-turn lanes and a minimum of 4-foot shoulders. The widening will take place
on the west side of Route 7 and sidewalks will be installed on the east side of
Route 7. The traffic
signal for the intersection of Route 7 and Grumman Hill Road will be replaced
to better accommodate the proposed left-turn lanes. Short, left-turn slots will also be installed
on Route 7, south of the Grumman Hill Road intersection, at Hollyhock Lane and
the commercial driveway opposite to Hollyhock Lane.

2020. The estimated construction cost
for the state designed project is approximately $2.67 million. Funding is anticipated to be undertaken with eighty
percednt (80%) Federal funds and twenty percent (20%) State funds.
