The purpose of the project is to provide a permanent fix to the structurally deficient retaining wall.  The existing dry stacked stone retaining wall will be replaced with a combination of a precast concrete block wall and an earthen slope to support the roadway.  A portion of the existing sidewalk will be replaced and a protective fence will be installed.

The contract was awarded to Baier Construction Company, Inc. of Bloomfield, Connecticut at a cost of $496,926.00 on December 12, 2017, and is scheduled to be completed in June 2018.
