Weekend Closure of I-84 Connector from the Founders Bridge (Route 2 East) to I-84 Eastbound Scheduled for the Weekend of August 19, 2017, Weather Permitting


The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the weekend closure of the I-84 Connector from the Founderís Bridge (Route 2 East) to I-84 Eastbound.  The I-84 Connector on Route 2 east, from the Founders Bridge and from the Pitkin Street on-ramp will be closed Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 4:00 AM, to Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 5:00 PM. 

The closure is necessary as part of the reconstruction of Bridge 02375. 

Closure Information
The I-84 Connector on Route 2 east, from the Founders Bridge and from the Pitkin Street on-ramp will be closed Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 4:00 AM, to Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 5:00 PM. 
  
Route 2 Motorists will remain on Route 2 east and be directed to take Exit 5, and proceed left onto Willow Street, under Route 2, then left onto Route 2 west, to Exit 2E to I-84 eastbound.

Pitkin Street motorists will be directed east on Pitkin to Jayce Street, then straight onto Route 2 east, to Exit 5, and proceed left onto Willow Street, under Route 2, then left onto Route 2 west, to Exit 2E to I-84 eastbound.  

The work is part of the ongoing bridge rehabilitation project constructed by The Brunalli Construction Company at a cost of $22 million and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2017.
