Traffic Shift for Rt 35 Bridge Replacement Project in Ridgefield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a traffic shift for stage construction will begin on January 16, 2017, on Route 35 (Danbury Rd.) in Ridgefield. This is Bridge # 02277 over Ridgefield Brook. All work is “weather permitting.”

The project consists of constructing a temporary roadway and bridge to maintain traffic in both directions.  Bridge 02277 will be replaced by removing the existing superstructure and a portion of the abutments and constructing a new span consisting of pile caps and a precast concrete deck. There will also be the installation of storm water collection and drainage systems.

DOT Project No. 0117-0149 was awarded to Baier Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $2,542,550.40 on July 17, 2015 and is scheduled to be completed December 31, 2017. This project is administered by the Office of Construction – District 4, Thomaston.
