Safety Improvements on Route 127 in the vicinity of Evers Street in Bridgeport.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will be holding a public information meeting regarding proposed safety improvements on Route 127 in the vicinity of Evers Street.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Bridgeport City Hall, City Council Chambers, 45 Lyon Terrace, Bridgeport, Connecticut.  A design presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a question and answer period immediately following.

The proposed improvements include roadside grading and roadway adjustments to provide adequate sight distances on Route 127. The present schedule indicates that construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2019 and completed in fall of the same year.  The estimated construction cost for the state designed project is approximately $3.5 million.  Funding is anticipated to be undertaken with ninety percent (90%) federal funds and ten percent (10%) state funds.

The public informational meeting is being held to offer a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning the Safety Improvements on Route 127 in the vicinity of Evers Street.
