The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime pavement joint repairs are being performed on Route 8 in Bridgeport through the week of October 19, 2015. Work hours are 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

This work is the initial phase of the ongoing Design Build project involving the rehabilitation of Bridge Nos. 03761, 03762, 03764 and 03765 carrying Route 8 over Capital Avenue and Lindley Street. These repairs, which are scheduled to last approximately 3 weeks, will commence on September 28, 2015 and occur between 7 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

This project is part of a ConnDOT initiatives program promoting the use of innovative contracting and construction techniques. In addition to the use of Design Build contracting, the project will utilize Accelerated Bridge Construction methods which will shorten the overall duration of the project while at the same time minimizing the impacts to the traveling public.  Additional project information can be found on the project website located at http://rt8bridgeport.com/
