Reduction of lanes on Gold Star Memorial Bridge (I-95 Northbound) for Bridge Joint Repairs in New London and Groton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that I-95 Northbound traffic will be restricted to two through-lanes from exit 83 to about half way across the Gold Star Memorial Bridge to perform bridge joint repairs.

Beginning Monday June 1, 2015 at 6:00 pm through Thursday June 4, 2015 at 6:00 am, traffic will be reduced to two (2) lanes on I-95 Northbound, from Exit 83 to roughly halfway across the Gold Star Memorial Bridge. This will occur again Monday June 8, 2015 at 6:00 pm through Thursday June 11, 2015 at 6:00 am. This restriction of lane use is for the replacement of bridge joints on the structure. All on and off-ramps will remain open during this construction period.

The contract was awarded on March 3, 2015 to Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. of Newington, Connecticut at a cost of $6,997,965.13.
