Oakwood Avenue in West Hartford Closed Between New Park Avenue and Tolles Street The Week of Monday, June 23, to Friday, June 27, 2014
 
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Oakwood Avenue in West Hartford will be closed between New Park Avenue and Tolles Street beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014. This will be a full, around-the-clock closure that is expected to last five days. 
 
The purpose of this closure is for the replacement of the Amtrak railroad tracks at the crossing with Oakwood Avenue, in conjunction with the construction of CTfastrak.   Vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians will not be permitted.  Please note that trains will continue to actively run during this closure.
 
DETOUR INFO- A detour for vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians will be clearly posted with signs. Detour routes include Dexter Street, Newfield Avenue, New Britain Avenue, and New Park Avenue.
 
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is working to inform local residents of current and upcoming construction activities through construction bulletins, press notices, travel alerts, as well as the CTfastrak web site.  For more information, please visit www.CTfastrak.com.
