Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 1 in Old Lyme and East Lyme
 
 
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 in Old Lyme and East Lyme.
 
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.75 mile segment of Route 1 between the Old Lyme Fire Department in Old Lyme and Route 161 (Flanders Road) in East Lyme.  This project is scheduled to occur Wednesday, September 12, 2012, to Thursday, October 4, 2012. 
 
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (weekdays). 
 
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
