The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Whalley Avenue from Emerson Street to Dayton Street will be realigned to the west with one lane in each direction beginning 9 AM on Thursday, July 15, 2010.  The realignment is needed to complete full-depth roadway reconstruction and will be in effect thru Sunday, August 1, 2010.

Upon completion of this stage, traffic will then be shifted onto the new roadway to allow completion of the remaining section of road, with completion of the entire block scheduled for August 15, 2010.

The work is part of DOT Project No. 0092-0547, for the reconstruction of Route 63 (Whalley Avenue).  A contract was awarded to Complete Construction Company on June 2, 2009 at a cost of $9,316.671.00 and it is currently scheduled for completion by April 11, 2011.
